Professional Masters Degree in GIS (MGIS)
In collaboration with the Dutton e-Education Institute and the World Campus, Penn State's Department of Geography offers instructor-led online education for current and aspiring geographic information systems professionals.

Majors

Crop and Soil Science (MS and PhD)
The Department of Crop and Soil Sciences offers two undergraduate majors (Environmental Soil Science and Turfgrass Science), two undergraduate minors (Agronomy and Environmental Soil Science), one Certificate program (Golf Course Turfgrass Management), two Masters programs (Agronomy and Soil Science), and two Doctoral programs (Agronomy and Soil Science).

Forestry (MS and PhD)
Our School focuses on the management of forest resources found throughout the world. This vast resource base provides an unending series of products and services required by the citizens of the world - clean air and water, a multitude of wood products, a diversity of fish and wildlife species, places to recreate, beauty and the sense of well-being.

Geography (BS, MS, and PhD)
Research in Geographic Information Sciences includes topics concerning GIS, cartography, quantitative methods, representation, qualitative methods, remote sensing, visualization, environmental perception, and education.

Minors

School of Information Sciences and Technology and College of Earth and Mineral Sciences (Joint minor)
The IST/EMS minor provides students with a solid base in the information sciences and technology through courses in IST's core curriculum, the same ones taken by all students majoring in IST.

Geography
This GIS minor, distinct from the Geography minor, is focused upon meeting the needs of students who wish to acquire grounding in geographical representation and analysis techniques.
